Amazing!

What I love about this book is the whole rare blood type angle. In this book, a person with a certain rare blood type can be injected with a certain drug cocktail that will temporally paralyze any vampire that drinks from the infect person. The book also talks about how the vampires are products of humans who had a certain blood type and died from a sickness and in return came back alive as vampires, or they were bitten by another vampire. This is a take on vampires that I have never experienced before, which makes it all the more interesting. People start getting boring with a certain book genre if the authors of that genre stick to the same outline. We need new takes on this long loved paranormal genre. Majority of people who enjoy reading love being able to escape their boring, human lives and feel like they are living a more exciting one. So, props to Nikki Jefford for coming up with a unique, interesting take on vampires and vampire hunters.
My love for this series isn’t only because it takes place in the very place I dream to move to, or the new twist on vampires and vampire hunters, but the amazing characters that are in this book. Aurora is a good example of a strong female lead. She isn’t afraid to speak her mind and knows what she wants in life. Dante is such a hilarious and sweet character. If Aurora won’t date him, I surely will. Noel is such a sweet and trustworthy character who would make the best friend in the world. Fane is a very interesting character. He seems to put on the bad boy image, when he is not as bad as he makes himself appear to be. However, he is definitely capable of extreme violence if provoked. Joss is a very interesting character who you might never completely understand. Valeria is an untrustworthy bitti who needs to be put in her place. I love Marcus, he seems to not have a care in the world and appears to be a very sweet guy. Lastly, Agent Melcher. I cannot stand that man! He is so creepy and seems to be out of his mind.
I love this book and recommend it to all who love vampire books. Even if you aren’t a huge fan of vampire books, I still believe you’d fall in love with this one. So go check it out and give the author some love!

Disappointed read

Not bad storyline but the vampire Hunter in training was unbelievable. What training did the heroine get? She took some karate class as a beginner and that's her training. She is given a weapon then all she had to do is get bitten so she can stake 'em. This was no Buffy the vampire slayer. Is more bite me so I can stake you. The heroine was clueless really. She can't even fight. Even though it was alluded it was not relatable. It didn't even show her new superpower. The writing was good but the slayer thing not believable for me. The mentor thing was more like zero. The first assignment she got was with her mentor and she was left on her own to staked two vampires. Maybe it's me but I like to see how the heroine learned to fight to be a slayer except on just where should she get bitten cuz she can't fight. I won't be following this series. I don't feel the heroine being a hunter was well developed. Also, I didn't see Fane as being hot except a brief mentioned of his tight ab but not in looks. I still recommend this book but don't expect a lot of details being shown and to accept that the heroine us a vampire Hunter without trainings.

A Rush for the Imagination

Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter was not what I expected in a vampire book. Nikki Jefford has written characters that are different, complex, and draw me back to read more about them. I'm not very good at writing reviews because I am afraid of giving away the story. But I will say Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter was a fast-paced story that keeps drawing me back for more and more. I am ALWAYS sad when the story ends because I just want to keep reading! (I've read all of them so far) If you are looking for a writer who takes you on a journey in your imagination with characters that speak to your mind's eye and fantastically described Alaskan landscapes, then this series is for you.
