A Great Short with characters you will want to spend time with.

One of my criteria for a great short (by no means the only one) is that a sign of its quality is that it leaves you wanting to spend more time with the characters. This was certainly true in the case of Bad Boy Good Man. Without spoilering the story, both Ellie and Anthony are realistically drawn, with great chemistry and back stories that could well be extended into a longer piece - by which I mean I would happily spend more time in their company! This is a great short, well worth the time and money. Highly recommended.

For a short that follows a pretty common misunderstanding trope, these characters are well-written and the writing is fun to read, in a light but inner monologue-heavy sort of way. The main character, Ellie, actually sounds like a real woman you have the chance of meeting, and that makes her all the more easy to relate to, without making her into a Mary Sue. Generally-speaking, Abigail Barnette (Jenny Trout) is great at writing characters with depth in a genre that isn't particularly known for its complexity and depth. The pacing of the short is expectedly quick, but not outside of what is realistic.
If you're looking for cute, happy, and sexy, this is an awesome and quick read from a really cool author. Absolutely worth the $.99.

Bad Boy Good Man

I really enjoyed this shorter length story. Ellie discovers to her absolute amazement that there is more to her sexy neighbour Antony than she originally thought. Appearances can be deceptive and Antony has a lot more to offer a girl than a set of sculptured abs.
For a short story it was comprehensively written and the author was able to deliver a story that had some depth. I liked the characterisation of both Antony and Ellie and the chemistry between them.
I haven't read anything by this author before but I do like their style.
