Great book on The C4, Not too technical or a Go To end all source,The photography is great and option information is good. I wish there would have been more Pictures and A Color Chart showing the different colors, There is Options discussed for each year and colors available for each year, The ZR-1 (1990-1995) should be Referred to As ZR-1 not ZR1(2009-),Also no Mention of There being 1983 Corvettes(Prototypes,Super Rare) and 1988-1989 Corvette Challenge cars,Other than that It is a Short but nonetheless great book.

More than I expected even though I have a lot of Corvette books! Excellent accuracy on specifications & facts.
Being a photographer I really enjoyed the great photography work & owning a C4 Corvette I could not recommend this book enough to anyone that likes Corvettes!

Great read-aloud for Pre- K

I read this story to my pre-kindergarten classes (four-year-olds) and they loved it. They got into the story, repeating "Run turkey run!" as it appears often in the story. It is also a good story for retelling, because the turkey tries to hide in several places before finally eluding the farmer. My classes really enjoyed this story, and it can be a quick five minute read aloud, or turned into a 20 minute activity with discussion, predicting, retelling, etc. Definitely worth the cheap cover price!

This is a great book for pre-K kids. My two toddlers love it. My three year old LOVES to yell "RUN TURKEY, RUN!" with me every time it comes up in the book, and it's not too long either, which makes it a nice read for parents. A great Thanksgiving children's book.

Absolutely gorgeous!

I'm a budding fan of classic illustration and got this book primarily to see the development of this art through the year in magazine art. This book contains such gorgeous work by George Wolfe Plank, Eduardo Garcia Benito, Georges LePape, Carl Erickson, etc that I was almost tempted to get a second copy to post selected pictures near my desk at home. Thankfully, this book comes with a small selection of cardboard inserts to serve this purpose. If you're a fan of the Vogue classic American covers, illustration, fashion and art, this is a must own.

From fashion to the faces

With this large coffee table book we see fashion developing during the last 120 years and also the faces of beauty. The book is mostly in chronological order, although at points it jumps around from year to year, which makes no sense and is a bit irritating if you are trying to see a smooth evolvement of style. Especially when a 1927 cover is inserted in the earlier 20's when fashions were much different.
5 poster boards, the approximate size of the book (12"x9") are inserted in the book and there is an index. Each cover has the person responsible for it and sometimes the name of the face on the cover shot. A forward and an introduction sum up the influences of Vogue. Sections are divided by decade, with a bit of text to tell what it was about. Some of the covers are very small, others full page

This is a history of fashion and style, that "held a mirror up to their times". We see covers progress from drawings to clothes and artistic flair to the faces of the beautiful and glamorous. This is easily one of the most beautiful fashion books that I've seen. The photos are gorgeous and of the highest quality. The book offers loads of fantastic covers showing the evolving world of fashion illustration and photography starting with Vogue's very first issue to the most recent ones. All the covers have captions showing their dates and the name of the photographers who shot them. This is a highly recommended book for anyone who appreciates fine books and beautiful photography. It also compliments the previous books chronicling the covers of both British and French Vogue. Also, the ready-to-frame covers at the end of the book add a really nice touch.

very accurate transcriptions

I've been waiting for a benny green book to come out and I finally purchased this about a year or two ago. It has very accurate transcriptions of some of his pieces and is great to have. Once you work the pieces up you can actually play along to his albums (he plays pretty fast though) - most are written in the original key.

I'd recommend this book to any benny green fan -- of course. Also, for any jazz pianists - it's great to go through his book and really see how green puts the pieces together and try to incorporate your style with the pieces.

And for those classically trained pianist (like me), you will appreciate the structure and genius of his compositions and will be amazed at the sound you will be making.

I'd rate this as advanced or advanced intermediate.

May be good for beginners who dislike the format of Android's online docs

I bought this book with the intention of learning how to use the Android's GPS facility to send coordinates information to a remote server via a JSON object. I already had sufficient knowledge of HTTP requests and responses but I just needed to know how to do it in Android using Java. Even though the contents of this book mentioned that it covered Android GPS it sadly didn't cover what I needed, therefore it wasn't much use.

Much of the book seems to just be a re-write of Google's online Android programming documentation, however this book obviously covers a lot less. I eventually had to search the web for the information I needed. If are a complete beginner and you need a book to get you started in the basics of Android development then this book may help you out. Sadly, it hasn't been much use for me yet!

This book is like a tool to optimize your project, the author have made a good job in Android 5 Programming by Example, with a good introduction based on top updated features on Android API, you can start develop all kind of project with the small but functional projects presented in each chapter, I was finding myself a little outdated and searching for a good introduction about new elements in Android 5, I am not a beginner in Android Development, but, I wasn't able to build elegant apps like I feel now, this book gives me the power and confidence to start new projects, now Android is more mature, beautiful, organized, and the author guides you from very beginning to end and marketing your project, I would recommend this book for anyone, even if you never programmed an Android app before.

Great book, at first i was a little daunted with using the xml on the UI when the same can be done with just placing widgets and the xml being updated automatically, but as i got going further i could not get away from the laptop and found myself glued to this book! building the new features for android 5 was a real enjoyment and gave me some great ideas for future apps.
Adding CardView widgets was something i was looking forwards to and this was covered early on when building a tourist kind of app screen, this is a great tool to use and i am sure all will be pleased.
I highly recommend this book for all you developers as it covers some really neat stuff.

Beginning at a young age Joey Lott experienced intensifying anxiety. For several decades he lived with restrictive eating disorders, obsessions, compulsions, and an inescapable fear. By the time he was 30 years old he was physically sick, emotionally volatile, and mentally obsessed with keeping any and all unwanted thoughts and experiences at bay.

At this time Lott was living on a futon mattress in a tiny cabin in the woods. He was so sick that he could barely move. He was deeply depressed and hopeless. All this despite doing all the "right" things such as years of meditation, yoga, various "perfect" diets, clean air, and pure water.

Just when things were at their most dire, a crack appeared in the conceptual world that had formerly been mistaken for reality. By peering into this crack and underneath all the assumptions that had been unquestioned up to that moment, Lott began a great undoing. I am very grateful for what is expressed here in this book. Myself, as someone who deals with social anxiety and thought compulsion, can very easily relate to the concerns, ideas, and solutions discussed in this guide. Very quickly you understand how it is simple to be free from obsession, fixation, mesmerization, confusion, and any other distractions caused by thought, so you can be free to be fulfilled and enlightened. I recommend this book to everyone, even if you just want to remember who/what you actually are, or just need to calm down and not take life so seriously. This was a great short guide to peace of mind.

Already awake Already free by Joey Lott is a marvelous short book about the solid basics of nonduality. He approaches the topic with frank no nonsense bull---- about the simple truth to it all that you can't not be awake. And even if you don't buy it that's tough,too bad you're still awake any way. It is not ultra polished theological meta physics and yet it is. Like his other writings his approach is wonderfully pragmatic and hits home on so many marks. Different non dual writers have sort of different flavors and slants. Lott 's flavor reminds me a bit of writers like the young american Buddhist rock and roll writers.

Like many people, I've had a fascination and curiosity about the mafia and what fuels it today. This book, however, really helped me put together the history of the mafia in what was essentially a coffee table book that nails down the background, beginnings, and big players in this legendary crime powerhouse. What I especially liked about this book was the organized way that Gasparini broke down the history. In the book, he takes us back to the foundation in Sicily, Italy and what the mafia meant in the beginning. Since I had often heard ex-mafia family members say on television that it was an organization that was created to "take care of ones own," especially here in the United States, I always thought it had some creepy, honor code behind it. What I found through this book, however, was that it really was motivated by thug mentality that hid behind a code of honor. Originally, it was a band of men who grouped together to basically tax all the landowners and workers in their area. When people were too poor or resisted their brute ways, they sliced their faces and terrorized their families to make a point to everyone that this is what would happen if they resisted their control. Needless to say, the history and reports over the last century have blown my mind. The number of retaliations, murders, and criminal activities are shocking to me.

Gasparini really helped to put a human face to the victims. In the book, he showed news clippings and pictures of people the mafia held as ransom (one a little boy that they kidnapped to prevent his father who was in prison from ratting them out, who they later murdered) or were caught in the crossfires of grudge matches. I can't even imagine what judge or police officer would dare go against these men, especially when so many of them were murdered along the way. It was all pretty nauseating and frightening. To be honest, the one thing the book leaves open is how the mafia can be stopped. From the way the book lays out their history, their power seems endless. Yes, they have captured and put away hundreds of powerful players and their pawns, but the system is very much still in place. It's all very frightening.

If you're at all interested in learning some of the history of the mafia, but don't want to read a 400 page break down, this is a great place to turn. Although it seems like a giant coffee table-like book, there is plenty of history and information to help fill you in. I highly recommend it and think it is a great way into what I'm now realizing is a pretty convoluted history.
